I received free samples of Toufayan Pita mentioned in this post. By posting this recipe I am entering a recipe contest sponsored by Toufayan Bakeries and am eligible to win prizes associated with the contest. I was not compensated for my time.
Toufayan Bakeries is a family-owned bakery in the U.S. that makes more than 100 delicious products available across the nation. It is the largest pita company in the U.S. Toufayan Bakeries is challenging Recipe ReDux members to redux your favorite recipe using a Toufayan Pita in any flavor.
The hardest part of creating this recipe was choosing the flavor pita to use- they have white, low carb, sweet onion, multi grain, sprouted whole wheat, savory garlic, oat bran, and whole wheat. To find a location near you and scope out your favorite flavor click here.
Pitas are a great way to have all of your favorite foods stuffed into a delicious pocket- making consumption even easier. With some recent warm weather I decided to make some Tofu BBQ. Well sorry friends but I think I jinxed it since it ended up snowing this past week and they are calling for even more next week. Fail.
Anyways I made a homemade BBQ sauce and sauteed the tofu in it then all the smoky sweet flavor was added to a pita. Making the BBQ sauce myself really made the flavor even better. I used the muligrain pita but you could use any of the multiple flavors Toufayan offers. I’m particularly in love with the sweet onion.
