I wanted to start out by announcing the winner from my Raw Spice Bar giveaway: Congrats to Laura!
Next area of business is talking to you guys a little bit more about what entering into my wellness challenge means and what the expectations are… first and foremost this is not a weight loss competition, this is not a diet program, this is a an all-encompassing look at your current state of health and how you can some small behavior changes to improve it.
The wellness challenge will last 8 weeks and each week will have a new focus while continuing to incorporate healthy habits from each week’s previous focus. The focus topics include fruit and vegetable intake, physical activity, hydration, sleep and meditation, mindful eating, eating whole foods, practicing gratuity and being positive, and general health.
There might be some focus topics you already a master of and don’t have much left to improve and that’s okay. Some of the weekly focuses will challenge you to expand on healthy behaviors you are already practicing as well as renewed interest. If you find that in general you are struggling with many of these topics then this wellness change will be a great time for growth and finding motivation. One of the most important questions we can ask ourselves is what motivates us to make healthy decisions? What motivates us to make less healthy decisions? Thinking about the pros and cons of our choice can be enlightening, sometimes we aren’t even making conscious decisions, and we are just stuck in a routine. I hope this challenge will shake things up a bit and show you that wellness isn’t one dimensional.
