Everyone has had blueberries but have you ever had Wild Blueberries!? Wild Blueberries have more flavor, more antioxidants, more manganese, more fiber, and less sugar! That’s definitely a winning nutrition profile so make sure you look for frozen Wild Blueberries for your holiday recipes. Since the blueberries are frozen at harvest the nutrients and taste are locked in. When I was in Maine last month I was able experience local Wild Blueberries since they are grown in Maine and Eastern Canada, but they are easy to find in any stores, just look in the freezer section and make sure the package says “Wild”.

I was inspired to make this recipe after attempting an apple cider mimosa… maybe it was the cider or the ratio but it was a fail. So I remained on the hunt for a fun holiday themed beverage. I thought blueberries would be a really fun fruit to incorporate into a traditional fall drink so the recipe testing began. It tasted great warmed and cold but I think it’s a little more special warmed. Add rum if there is no need to keep it child friendly and be sure to garnish with an orange slice and cinnamon stick because nothing is more festive than garnishes. Cheers!

  1. This looks great! I have a recipe with a bit of apple cider and blueberries coming too 🙂 I am not usually big into drinks though, I always would rather eat my calories in holiday dishes and desserts! For a favorite, I’ll go with a nice full bodied glass of red wine to go with my holiday meals.
