I for one, HATE the treadmill, I’m much more of a running outside and enjoying the outdoors and the scenery type of runner. Outside I can run miles upon miles, inside after 3-4 miles I’m bored out of my mind. Also I feel like the treadmill messes up my form, another reason to hate it. Well the temperatures have been ridiculously cold, so it is becoming more difficult to run outside. Partly because I’m a baby and hate the cold, the other is slippery/icy sidewalks make it a little unsafe. Plus constantly looking down and fretting about ice doesn’t make for a very relaxing or enjoyable run.
Okay so end rant. This is a non-boring treadmill work out, designed for the runner that doesn’t like running outside in the winter, or for the treadmill runner who is looking to switch up his/her routine. Honestly, this is fun, and you’re switching positions so often it goes really fast. Just remember to be careful and go at a safe pace.
15 minute Treadmill workout
1 minute walk to warm up at incline 5
2 minute jog at slow pace at incline 3
1 minute jog at slow pace at incline 8
2 minutes r side skips incline 4 (start at slow pace, increase if able to safely)
2 minutes l side skips incline 4
1 minute backwards incline 6
2 minute medium pace jog at incline 3
1 minute sprint at incline 1
1 minute fast walk at incline 8
2 minute walk to cool down at incline 3
Feel free to double this if you want to do 30 minutes of cardio…. just be careful with speed!
Do you prefer the treadmill or running outside??? Do you have a treadmill at home or go to the gym??
